2006 Clemson Invitational

Milton Cross-country had a remarkable performance at the Clemson Invitational Cross Country Meet this past Saturday. The meet was held on the Clemson University campus with numerous schools from Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina in attendance. The Milton JV girls swept the competition by achieving the first five places in their race scoring a perfect 15 points. The JV Lady Eagles were led by the freshman duo of Anika Scholz and Stephanie Butzer, and were followed closely by Mary-Chrislyn Durham, Jennifer Hawe and Carly Randolph. The team was thrilled with their perfect 15 score, a rarity in the sport.

The Milton varsity Lady Eagles finished a strong 2nd place out of 10 schools. Pacing Milton with a great race was Megan Hirschi who finished 4th. Also placing in the top ten were Jamie Chandler (8th) and Sarah Foreman (10th).

A successful season continued for the Milton boys’ varsity cross-country team with an impressive 2nd place finish out of 14 teams. Led by Christian Scholz (6th), Tyler Tomy (10th), Seth Tomy (18th) and Ryan Price (19th), the Eagles continue to build momentum and improve.

For the second straight week, Mitchell Foley finished second in the JV boys’ cross-country race. With over 120 runners, the Eagles ran to a 2nd place team finish. Contributing to the Eagles runner-up finish were Ryan Thurman (8th), Thomas Monette (9th), Brian Parsons (12th) and Curt Ellison (14th).
