2008 Season Highlights
April 2009
BOYS
The Milton boy’s cross country team came into the season with very high expectations and did exactly that! With dominating overall wins at Warpath & Coach Wood the Eagles were a threat no matter where they ran. Their run-away win at the Fulton County Championships locked up the Best Overall Program title for the first time since 2005 and propelled them to a 3rd at the region meet and a solid 7th at the state meet. The development of the younger runners was evident as the JV team won 3 times (Berry, Warpath, and County), seconds at Battle of Atlanta & Furman and third’s at Class-Clash & Coach Wood meaning the JV boy’s lost to only 6 teams the entire season showing a bright future is ahead for a team that is graduating 7 of it’s top-11 runners.
GIRLS
The Lady Eagles compete in the toughest region in the state (3 top-10 ranked teams) and held their own with impressive results all season long. With solid third place finishes at Warpath, Class-Clash and a surprising and hard-fought 3rd at County, the Lady Eagles showed they were a team that could compete with the best. 4th place finishes at Battle of Atlanta & Coach Wood again against some of the best teams in the state showed the tenacity of this team. Even though their streak of 7 straight trips to the state meet was broken this season, the youth of this team has developed with 3 freshman running in the top-4 and a JV girls team that placed second at Warpath, Coach Wood and surprised many with a runner-up finish at Fulton County to show that this girl’s team will be even stronger for the next few seasons to come.
