Milton Cross Country Sponsors Wish

The 2009 Milton High School Cross Country team is sponsoring a “wish” for a special child through Children’s Wish Foundation International. The special child that the team will be sponsoring is Brandon. Brandon’s wish is to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise. The team will be holding fundraisers throughout the season to raise money for Brandon. If you would like to make a donation for this worthy cause, please make a check to Children’s Wish Foundation International. All contributions are tax deductible if in the form of a check. You may place your donation in the “Wish Jar” at any of the Cross Country meets or mail to: Kim Deutsch, 615 Athlone Court, Milton, Georgia 30004. Thank you for your support.

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a type of cancer, specifically a sarcoma (cancer of connective tissues), in which the cancer cells are thought to arise from skeletal muscle progenitors. It can also be found attached to muscle tissue, wrapped around intestines, or anywhere, to exclude the neck area. Treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma consists of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and sometimes surgery. Surgery to remove the tumor is often difficult or impossible because the tumor is usually embedded deep within the tissue, leaving it difficult to reach.

Brandon is a huge sports fanatic whose favorite sports
include baseball and golf. He hopes to someday go to either Virginia Tech or Georgia Tech to become an architect. Brandon’s love for the beach has led him to become interested in ocean life and scuba diving. He is excited about his wish taking place and cannot wait to spend time on the beach with his family.
